In math class, we presented our plan in which we were supposed to find a method to win the lottery. Ours was simple: we would recruit 50,000 people to volunteer and pay about $52 a month for four years. We would also receive donations from anonymous people until we had amassed a total of about $170 million dollars. When we won the lottery, each person would receive $8200, which totals up to a net profit of about $170.

I woke up feeling extremely drowsy. Again, the dorms are freezing over. When we went to Linville Caverns, the place was 52 degrees, yet I was not cold at all. In the dorms, the temperature is supposedly set at 70 degrees, but it is bitterly freezing. I think the system is rigged so the temperature inside is 45 degrees. I learned a lot about photography today and took many photos of our group. The countdown to the last day of CIMAS: 3 days

7/23/2007

During math class, we did some geometry. Geometry is one of my favorite math subjects because it brings back warm memories of learning math under an experienced and helpful teacher. The semester after geometry was hellish. I remember I had algebra 2 and my teacher did not teach me anything. I ended up getting a "B" on the end-of-course exam. Anyway, I went to photography class which I thought was very interesting, and I learned about the history of photography and the story behind the origins of photography. I can't believe that this is my last week at CIMAS. I'm going to miss everyone very much when this program is over.

Today I learned many things about statistics during math class. Today was also the last day of biology class. I weaved a basket and learned more about the different properties of kudzu. I also played a game called Dofus.

I woke up and went to breakfast today, and I was almost late. I went to math class after breakfast and I had the pleasure of learning more about statistics. I like this class because I am taking AP Statistics this year and it would give me a sort of head start on the subject. I learned more about the properties of kudzu today but it was extremely hot outside.

I woke up a little earlier than usual. The same routine. Won and lost some games of Krypto. Computer class. Not much today. Just a regular, normal, ordinary day at CIMAS. CIMAS is awesome.

July 17, 2007

A week has passed by so fast. In the blink of an eye, 7 days had passed. I am now comfortable with my surroundings and am also well acquainted with everyone in my group. I believe that the CIMAS program would be beneficial to me because I have the chance to interact with people from many different backgrounds and races, something that I have not done before. My school consists mainly of whites, and therefore, all my friends are white. However, I had the valuable experience of mixing with different races.
